We’ll take a closer look at some of Week 13’s headlining games – those being the ones sports bettors had the most interest in.
Week 13 Thursday Night Matchup
The first game of Week 13 in the NFL’s 2017-2018 season was a Thursday night contest between NFC East foes, in this case the Washington Redskins and the Dallas Cowboys. Dallas, playing at home, won the contest by a large 38-14 margin thanks to high-scoring second- and fourth-quarter performances that featured an incredible 83-yard punt return from Ryan Switzer just minutes to go until the halftime break. Cowboys QB Dak Prescott was only okay in the game, going 11-for-22 passing for 102 yards through the air and two touchdowns on the night. Still, a 127-yard night from running back Alfred Morris put Dallas ahead big time and ultimately sealed the deal on the win despite a superior passing performance from KC’s Kirk Cousins (26-for-37 for 251 yards and 2 TDs). Neither team really went on to much acclaim after Week 13, as the Cowboys finished the season 9-7 and the Skins 7-9, both well behind divisional leader Philadelphia.

Notable Sunday Matchups For Week 13
Washington vs. Dallas was not the only great game of Week 13. Most notably, Kansas City lost to the woeful New York Jets in a 38-31 heartbreaker that went down to the wire in the fourth quarter, while Miami smoked Denver 35-9, and New England predictably dismembered Buffalo to the tune of 23-3. There were some other, closer games in among the Sunday matchups for Week 13, including what could be a possible first meeting for NFC rivals Minnesota and Atlanta, though the Vikings won 14-9 in Week 13. Jacksonville also played well to defeat Indiana 30-10 on one of the better performing nights of QB Blake Bortles late-season spurt that helped his squad make it to the Playoffs for the first time in ages.
Week 13 Sunday Night Football Matchup
The big Sunday night game in the league's 13th week featured Philadelphia going up against the Seahawks in Seattle. The Seahawks proved they had enough talent on their roster this year to win big games, but their luck eventually ran out as they finished the season 9-7 and second in what turned out to be a weak NFC East Division. However, the Seahawks showed out for Week 13 Sunday Night Football, downing the Playoffs-bound Eagles 24-10 in front of a riotously happy home crowd. This game drew a ton of bettors in Washington and from around the country for what turned out to be one of the Seahawks best wins of what was, unfortunately, a basically mediocre season for them.
Week 13 Monday Night Football Matchup
Monday Night is Football Night in America, and the Monday Night Football rematch between Pittsburgh and Cincinnati scheduled for Week 13 probably didn’t a lot of attention from sportsbook gamblers based on the teams involved. Pure sports fans, on the other hand – especially those from Ohio - were in for a treat, as the Bengals, one of the whipping boys of the 2017-2018 season, put on a heck of a show with a Herculean fourth-quarter effort. The Steelers, who were destined for a trip to the Playoffs, came away with a 23-20 win, but only after making a desperate stop to halt the Bengals’ valiant 13-point-performance in the final period. Even though Cincinnati had a rough season, finishing 7-9 on the year, the Bengals (along with some other middling-to-bad teams this year) exposed the Steelers as far from invincible going into the single-elimination post-season.
